The Aaron Redd Foundation is proud to announce Maxwell Medhurst is the inaugural recipient of the 2020 Aaron Redd Award.
The Aaron Redd Award Committee considered many exceptional candidates and found Max to be an outstanding candidate, due in large part to his undeniable passion in pursuing his professional and personal goals. His dedication to the United States Coast Guard, serving his community through volunteerism, and impacting the lives of numerous young people through his efforts with the YMCA, Boy Scouts of America, and Cape May, New Jersey Elementary Schools, provided the framework for winning.
We were stopped in our tracks as we read about Max’s relentless drive to achieve his goals and how his actions embody Aaron’s Spirit. We knew he would be an excellent steward of our mission and Aaron’s legacy. In Max’s words, “anyone selected for this award must honor Aaron’s memory by achieving their own fullest potential while serving our Country.” We agree Max and understand you possess those remarkable characteristics.
The $2500 Award will enable Max to continue his educational goal of obtaining his Masters Degree in Criminal Justice Administration at Columbia Southern University. The money allows him to take three additional classes and pay for qualified academic expenses related to his degree. The Board of Directors of the Aaron Redd Foundation is honored to be a part of Max’s journey and excited to have him be a part of Aaron’s legacy.
We would like to thank all the candidates for submitting their applications and wish them continued success in their endeavors.
